Pyrometer Superior Pattern is a compact and effective apparatus designed to demonstrate the coefficient of linear expansion of solids due to heat. Ideal for educational institutions and laboratory use, this apparatus helps visualize the thermal expansion behavior of different metals in a simple and reliable way.
The setup includes three metal expansion bars Aluminium, Iron, and Brass (each 380 mm in length). Any one of the bars can be securely fixed to the upright support, with the free end resting on a pointer arm, which moves over a graduated scale (0 to 90) to show angular displacement due to expansion.
This design allows students to observe the principle of thermal expansion clearly and helps calculate the coefficient of linear expansion using basic trigonometric relationships.
